5. SUGAR FREE SIMPLE SYRUP RECIPE! ALL NATURAL, NO CALORIES, NO CARBS!

Keeping with a theme and seeing as how we shared our recent video about the sweeteners we use and why, today I thought it would be fun to share how we now make simple syrup with no sugar! This is a great way to have a liquid sweetener ready to go for ice coffee and even making fruit punch from the little packets.
No matter how you use it, this is really nice to have on hand! Knowing it's sugar free is an awesome bonus. #sugarfree #lowcarb #keto #homemade #recipe #anthonysnaturals #noreenskitchen

This starts off with the same formula as with regular table sugar. One part water to one part sugar or in this case erythritol. You will want to place this over medium heat and bring to a simmer. No need to boil or reduce at all. Once the liquid has heated through and the dry ingredients are dissolved this is ready to go.

Remove from the heat and add as many as 20 drops of liquid stevia to the mixture. This will combine with the erythritol to bring it up to the sweetness level of sucrose or table sugar. If, after tasting this you like it sweeter, add some more drops of the stevia to the mixture before storing it. You can also store as is and add extra stevia to whatever serving you are using the simple syrup in.

The reason for the additional stevia is because the erythritol is only 70% as sweet as table sugar the stevia gives it a boost. Adding more erythritol won't make it sweeter it will just make it thicker. You will want this to cool completely before storing in an airtight container in the refrigerator. We like to decant ours into a specific bottle with a tight fitting lid. This will last indefinitely as long as you keep it in the fridge, but I think you will find yourself making this often to sweeten your coffee, tea or other drinks and dishes.

This is a way to have a sweetener that you know is safe and won't harm you. But as with all sweeteners, too much can be bad and if you are sensitive to the effects of some sweeteners this too could cause you some intestinal distress. Just know your body and know your limits!

I hope this was a helpful tutorial and I hope that you learned something. Just because you are trying to stay away from unhealthy things does not mean you cannot enjoy the things you love. You just need to find a different way to enjoy them. This simple syrup is one way that can make things a bit easier and help you stay on track.

Information:

"Was a three piece punk band from East Brunswick, New Jersey.

They were fronted by Tomas Kalnoky, who later went on to write, sing and play guitar for famed third-wave ska bands Catch 22, Streetlight Manifesto, and acoustic ensemble Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution. Gimp released one cassette in 1995, entitled Smiles for Macavity, likely named after the cat, a subject of a poem. At the time, Tomas was 15.

The band featured drummer Chris Greer and bassist Jason Scharenguivel, both of which went on to play with Kalnoky in Catch 22, though Scharenguivel left after the recording of Rules of the Game. Kalnoky's brother Achilles also played violin on the track "Supernothing". Often at concerts for Kalnoky's current band, Streetlight Manifesto, fans will scream "Butterworth" in an attempt to make Kalnoky cover the song, "Mrs. Butterworth's Indestructible Bomb Shelter", but Kalnoky insist that "I wrote it when I was nine, its the most embarrassing thing I've ever written, stop saying Butterworth Smiles of Macavity
Smiles for Macavity is a 1996 album by Gimp. The tape was only circulated in a concentrated part of Keasbey, New Jersey, and is of very low quality, but the tracks can be found on the internet. As of August 30, 2007, a tribute album is in the works. Various underground artists will each cover a song off the album
